Streetmaster: the story
The Streetmaster was the brain child of Triumph enthusiast Richard Varner. Richard wanted to build a prototype bike utilizing the new Bonneville twin motor, with upgraded power and a mind-bogglingly lightweight chassis. More power and less weight is always the express train to Performance City! This was a group effort with all motor work handled by Triumph specialist Charlie Barnes and Mule designing and building the chassis. Mr. Varner was very specific in his requirements—wanting tradition and appearance with a high tech flair.
Phase two, which has already started, is the building of a series of replicas that will vary from the standard model to something similar to the prototype with Ti exhaust, axles and all hardware and upgraded motor.
